Physical Therapy

Physical therapists are movement experts trained in the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Through targeted and personalized treatment, physical therapists help patients improve their functional mobility to live to their fullest potential.

Benefits of Physical Therapy:

Physical Therapy Treatment

Improved Mobility and Function

Physical therapists work on enhancing joint flexibility, muscle strength, and overall range of motion. This can significantly improve an individual's ability to move and perform daily activities.

Management of Chronic Conditions

Physical therapy is beneficial for individuals with chronic conditions such as autoimmune diseases, diabetes, cancer, lymphedema and neurological conditions. Therapeutic exercises and lifestyle modifications can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

Posture Improvement

Poor posture can contribute to various musculoskeletal issues. Physical therapists assess and address posture-related problems, providing exercises and advice to improve body alignment.

Balance and Coordination

Physical therapy programs often include exercises to enhance balance and coordination, reducing the risk of falls, particularly in older adults.

Pain Management

Physical therapy includes therapeutic exercises and manual techniques that can help reduce pain and discomfort. It aims to address the root cause of pain and promote healing.

Pre- and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

Before surgery, physical therapy can prepare the body for the procedure. After surgery, it aids in a faster recovery, promoting healing and preventing complications.

Education and Empowerment

Patients are educated about their conditions and provided with tools and exercises to manage their health independently. This empowers individuals to take an active role in their well-being.

Physical Therapy for Complex Medical Issues

At Monarch Wellness, we specialize in treating patients with complex health issues like cancer, lymphedema, diabetes, autoimmune disorders and neurological disease.  These conditions effect multiple body systems, may require a longer course of treatment, and often benefit from collaborative care treatment approaches. For example, a breast cancer patient may benefit from physical therapy to recover their range of motion and strength after surgery, improve lymphatic function, decrease cancer-related fatigue, and address balance challenges related to chemo-induced peripheral neuropathy. Our ultimate goal for all patients undergoing physical therapy is to help them become more stable, independent and active in their daily lives.
